About Us.

Peppermint Pool is a 48 hectare farm situated 10 km west of Albany on the south coast of Western Australia. The Allen family have been farming here for more than 75 years. The main activity has been seed potato growing from which Terry retired in 2003. For 15 years Helen bred a small flock of melanian sheep producing beautiful coloured wool for hand spinning. We then bred Murray Gray cattle for a few years.

In 1995 we decided to add alpacas to our farm, a decision that has given us enormous pleasure. A boutique size herd of excellent quality white and light fawn huacaya females includes blood lines from Purrumbete Highlander and Windsong Valley Iceman ,Purrumbete Ledgers Dream, Windsong Vallet Royal Inca , Jolimont Warrior and Banksia Park Khan. Our aim is to breed superior quality alpacas with fine, dense, lustrous fleece that maintains its fineness with age.

We generally have for sale small numbers of weanling and pregnant females, young males and wethers with prices for all budgets.

Stud services are available from our stud males Peppermint Pool Chad, Supreme Champion Huacaya at the Whiteman Park Autumn Show 2003 and Peppermint Pool Nelson who had the Supreme Champion Huacaya Fleece at the Albany Show 2006.
